York Wayfinding

Project Description

The York City Centre wayfinding scheme was designed to improve the experience of visiting York by providing high quality and modern pedestrian wayfinding support, so that visitors can more easily understand the City and to find their way around it.

The scheme is a significant improvement to the City Centre public realm and to the old fingerpost signs. Provide health benefits by encouraging walking, tourism and commercial benefits by encouraging exploration, improving experience and thereby encouraging visitors to return.

In this iconic project I had the opportunity of, based on the design intent from the design partners, design the prototypes and then the production units that were installed in York City Centre.

The scheme is composed of 4 products - Standard Totem, Wide Totem, Finger post sign and Flag sign.
