London Luton Airport
Project Description
London Luton Airport Signage
London Luton Airport (LLA) have embarked on an extensive redevelopment plan. This work includes a major redesign of the terminal and a revised look and feel (launched in December 2014) designed to reposition Luton as one of London’s leading airports.
Working as Design Engineer at Trueform Engineering, I had the opportunity of developing the fabrication design of a large number of products on this project. Based on the creative partners design intent and the client specifications, I managed to find imaginative solutions these challenging products.
From all the products, I must highlight the Flight Information Displays structures as I managed to develop a modular solution that allowed an easier and more smooth fabrication process as decreased dramatically the number of different parts, and at the same time made the installation process more simple. Also, in this product, the electronic and electrical components are made easy accessible to maintenance by design.
The fabrication design process included the fabrication of a prototype where the client and the creative partners were able to understand our proposals, fabrication craftsmanship and to validate our fabrication design.
